Fusion Fertiliser is the combined effort of 3 generations passion for soil and plant health.

Fusion Fertiliser was founded by the late Barry McMillan, an energetic and passionate people person with a lifetime of experience in serving rural markets with conventional science and products, saw a gap in the market early to provide better nutrition solutions for soil and plant health.

‘Baza’ is well remembered by many in the hort, vit, and agri sectors across the top of the South Island and his inspirational personality and drive established the company early and improved nutrition solutions for our valued clients.

A battle with cancer led Barry to sell the business to Blenheim-based viticulturist Tim Laverack, who graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticultural Science in 1999, bought the business in 2016, after 15 years in various vineyard management roles.

Over this time Tim’s passion and observed experience implementing better science and effective techniques in his own vineyards only strengthened the belief in the Fusion Fertiliser approach, and as a land owner himself, ensures very practical and realistic outcomes for his client base. In 2022 Tim sold the business to a local Marlborough family business.

Dillon Senior, who has had a passion for soil science from a young age, now leads the business learning and working closely with Tim Lavarack as he passes the mantle, with the support of a wider team of experts from Hybrid-Ag.
